A Guide to Unlock the FCA SGW Gateway with Launch X431

Launch has introduced updated procedures for bypassing the FCA Security Gateway (SGW) module, with the available options varying significantly based on the user's geographic location. The method you can use is automatically determined by your IP address. This means diagnostic tools will not present options intended for other regions; for instance, users in Europe will not see North American solutions, and vice versa. Detailed information is provided below.

1. For Users in the USA, Mexico, and Canada

Unlock Method: Direct FCA Account Login via Launch X431

When connecting to a modern FCA vehicle, the Launch X431 diagnostic tool will detect the SGW module and prompt the user. By selecting "Yes," technicians can log in directly with their FCA account credentials to bypass the security gateway. Once unlocked, the full suite of diagnostic functions becomes available, including reading fault codes, viewing live data, performing actuator tests, and accessing special functions.

Important Note:

The user's IP address is used to geo-locate the session. Consequently, diagnostic tools with a North American IP will not be presented with the European or other regional unlock options.

• FCA and Maserati security gateway bypass
• Mercedes-Benz gateway unlock (for models produced after 2020)
• Renault and Dacia access (now 20 connections)
• VAG (Volkswagen Auto Group) license

To initiate the activation process, you must first complete registration:
– Visit http://europe-lmp.x431.com/LMP/#/sgwLogin and click Register.

If you encounter issues such as not receiving login credentials, please contact e-commerce@launch-europe.de for support.
– Alternatively, on your Launch X431 tool, navigate to:
More > Licenses > Use Software Card > SGW User Authentication > Register.

– Complete the registration form. Your details will undergo a review process, but you can often proceed with activation while the review is pending.

Guidelines for Identity Verification:

To ensure a smooth verification process, please adhere to these steps:

1. Capture a photo of your government-issued ID card placed beside your Launch diagnostic device.

2. Upload this image for verification purposes.

3. Avoid submitting large, high-resolution scans (e.g., full A4 page scans). Excessive empty background space can often make the crucial details on your ID difficult to discern.

How to Activate Your FCA SGW License

Please note: The specific activation steps differ depending on the format of your license key.

Case 1: License keys beginning with FCA, MESGW, SGWP, POAL, or POAT

Within the Launch X431 diagnostic application, navigate from the main menu: More > Licenses > Use Software Card > SGW User Authentication and log in.

Locate and select the "Security Gateway Activation Form," fill in all mandatory fields, and submit the form.

You can check the status of your submission later via the "Status Inquiry" menu.

Case 2: For all other license key formats

Navigate to: More > Licenses > Use Software Card.

Enter your full license key precisely and tap Confirm.

If an error message appears mentioning “SGW User Authentication,” it typically indicates your account has not yet been verified or there was an issue with verification. You will usually be notified via email if this is the case.
